“A promising medicinal herb to combat COVID-19”

The team says this study is the first to demonstrate the antiviral effect of U. tomentosa on the novel coronavirus.

“Based on our results, U. tomentosa is a promising medicinal herb to combat COVID-19,” write Zapata and colleagues

It allegedly helps fight a range of ailments, including infections, cancer, arthritis, and Alzheimer’s disease

Cat’s claw may support your immune system, possibly helping fight infections more effectively.

Cat's claw is Psychoactive! (Uncaria tomentosa)

Considering that cat's claw itself is an MAO-B I, I would guess that hordenine would help to prevent some of the alkaloids from being metabolized.

Cat’s claw is also called the “life-giving vine of Peru.” Its use for health purposes actually dates back to the ancient Inca civilization in Peru. Cat’s claw or uña de gato is also the most sacred herb among the Ashaninkas, Campo and other Amazonian tribes.

According to indigenous Shamans, uña de gato serves as a bridge and balancer between the physical and spiritual worlds, which is helpful to health problems since they believe in spiritual causes of bad health.

Quercetin is also an MAO-B inhibitor and it has been reported to potentiate

cat's claw.

So quercetin potentiates the psychoactive effects of cat's claw by more

than 3 times, but not the bodily effects.

mitraphylline from Uncaria tomentosa

ON it’s own at 3 grams, cat’s claw is a pretty nice experience.

It’s unique, but in some ways reminds me of cramp bark and passionflower, but it’s WAY STRONGER.

How does it work?

P.E.A. is a fatty acid molecule naturally found in the body and obtained from protein rich foods such as egg yolk, soyabean and meat. It acts as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain reliever) by targeting the nervous system cells that increase pain and turning them off when they are not needed anymore.

Many chronic pain sufferers exhibit low levels of P.E.A. and supplementation is thought to restore the body’s P.E.A. levels and help combat the pain response.

Xperiences

I just tried 1 gram of cat's claw with 250 mg quercetin,

followed 20 minutes later by 400 mg of PEA HCl.

I also had 1 cup of coffee to drink down the cat's claw and quercetin tablets.

Before I took the PEA I was having pretty good visual effects from the cat's claw.

The visuals and other psychoactive effects were stronger than all my previous tests with cat's claw, however the bodily sensations were the same level as 1 gram on it's own.

So quercetin potentiates the psychoactive effects of cat's claw by more

than 3 times, but not the bodily effects.

There were very few tingling sensations present in the body.

Quercetin inhibits both MAO-A and MAO-B reversibly for a short time (a few hours or so) and it made the cat's claw more than 3 times as psychoactive for me.

There was very obvious potentiation. 1 gram of cat's claw with 250 mg of quercetin was stronger than 3 grams of cat's claw, more psychoactive, but with less effects on the body. It seems to only boost the psychoactive effects of cat's claw.

The visuals were very unique and very noticeable. At one point my body appeared to be growing and shrinking slightly. I also could see images faintly forming if I relaxed and let the visuals flow.

The visuals are very soft, fluffy, it's hard to describe.

It's got a floaty, drifty feeling about it.

When the PEA kicked it about 60 minutes later, it felt almost like a low dose of a full blown psychedelic.

The PEA sort of shifted the effects so they were more in-line with something like mescaline, but not quite. There wasn't that much euphoria though. It seems like the PEA's euphoria is smothered by the cat's claw instead of amplified by it.

I tried PEA yesterday with cat's claw. This time I used 3 grams of powder cat’s claw packed into 4 size OOO capsules.

Before I even took the PEA, at about 20 minutes in to it, I was feeling very pronounced psychoactive effects from the cat’s claw alone
. My whole body was tingling. This was a very strong sensation. Not unpleasant, sort of nice actually.

There was a sense of peace, mild euphoria. My body felt relaxed, and my muscle tension was greatly relieved (I tend to get muscle tension a lot).

This would be great for a tension headache.

At 30 minutes I started getting mild visual effects from the cat’s claw. I did not expect that. There was a mild flashing of things around me. It was sort of a sparkly effect, as if visual objects had pieces of them shooting about. It was mild, but very obvious. I then took 400 mg of PEA.

At about 60 minutes the PEA was noticeable, but way overpowered by the effects of the cat’s claw.

Xperience

How come no one talks about cat’s claw being psychoactive and producing visual effects? It’s no wonder it’s added to ayahuasca. I spent the next few hours with my body tingling like crazy, almost numb, with mild visuals effects. It was pleasant, and the PEA made it a little more pleasant, but the effects of the PEA were so overpowered by the cat’s claw.

A few hours later I slept and had a ton of vivid dreams.

The cat’s claw seems to stimulate dreaming in me.

My cat’s claw’s MAO-B inhibiting effects are really too weak to work well for PEA, and the psychoactive effects are way too strong.

If I upped the dose of the cat’s claw I think I would have had pretty strong visual effects from it alone.

So for this reason, I have to give a negative vote for using cat’s claw to activate PEA. It’s way too psychoactive, and it’s MAO-B inhibiting effects are not strong enough.

But on it’s own at 3 grams, cat’s claw is a pretty nice experience. It’s unique, but in some ways reminds me of cramp bark and passionflower, but it’s WAY STRONGER.
